Integration is a very personal experience and each person is exposed to various difficulties depending on their own situation, background and/or purpose of staying. This is why we take a remarkable individual and practical teaching approach of learning Dutch, based on your needs while also helping you in every step along the way of integrating to the Dutch society.


About DutchMatters

We are Ineke and Janneke and together we are Dutch Matters. As native Dutch speakers we combine over 40 years of experience in providing Dutch courses and intensive Dutch language training. As we’ve learnt from our students there's a lot more to think about when integrating to the Dutch culture, besides the language. Our history, behaviours, habits and culture are all part of the way our language is shaped, evolves and put into practice. Besides every student has his/her own particular needs and proficiency as well as his/her own way of learning the language given the fact that they all come from different backgrounds/cultures. 

 

 Therefore we look at the individual situation of our students and provide them with a personal approach from a practical point of view. This is, not only teaching the Dutch language but everything else they need to know about living in The Netherlands. 

About Us  

Ineke

Graduated in 1979 as a teacher from the Bachelor Teaching College (Montessori), Ineke has worked as a teacher in Dutch primary and high-schools. Being passionate about teaching, she started her own practice in Dutch language training and teaching. In her teaching practice she's coaching expats and students on all levels and helps them to strengthen their self-confidence in the Netherlands and even writing their master’s thesis in Dutch. 


Ineke’s interest in the various cultural backgrounds of her students, made her obtain a master in organizational anthropology. This even professionalized her eye for detail with regard to different company wishes, job coaching and business consultancy.

Janneke

Janneke has been working with expats from all around the world. Coordinating volunteer projects, working abroad in various countries, facilitate expats to integrate in the Netherlands or coaching refugees on their Dutch language skills and help them finding a job...she loves it!


She has experienced the pleasures and struggles as an expat hersel, learning a different language and coping with cultural differences.


With a background in communication science, expanded with various language trainings and courses including NT2, Janneke takes great joy in supporting expats to integrate in the Netherlands.
